Cyber deception technology startup TrapX announced it has completed its latest funding round.

The Series C round netted $18 million, led by Ibex Investors, with contributions from Intel Capital, BRM, Opus Capital, Liberty Technology Venture Capital and Strategic Cyber Ventures. TrapX plans to use the funding to expand the company’s global footprint to additional countries and verticals.

TrapX, launched in 2012, challenged the cyber-threat detection industry with  its “Deception Technology” which approached threat detection as a “right data” problem rather than a “big data” problem, allowing security teams to change the economics of cyber-attacks.
