Tibit Gets $25 Million for Broadband On-Ramp

Tibit Communications, which is in the business of making next generation network on-ramps,  announced it raised new funding to expand its operations.

The startup announced it has raised $25 million in Series B funding from Intel Capital which led the funding in this round. Supporting investors in this round include  Swisscom Ventures and AJU IB Investment.

The startup, based in Petaluma, CA, is developing access devices for Passive Optical Networking, or PON. The pluggable devices are designed to virtualize the access network using ethernet switching equipment. This set up lets network operators create new on ramps to the internet managed virtually from the cloud to user.
