Rachel Ford, after nearly three years as the director of Techstars Atlanta, has left the startup accelerator to join Bakkit, NYSE’s Intercontinental Exchange’s new cryptocurrency venture.
Ford will be Strategic Operations Manager at Bakkit, where she will help oversee the venture which creates a federally regulated trading platform that lets institutions do financial transactions easily and safely.
Ford had a successful run at Techstars Atlanta since she joined in 2014. There she helped develop 30 startups and mentor 65 new entrepreneurs. She then rose to become the director of the Atlanta accelerator program. All before she turned 27 recently.
“The Techstars family has challenged me to stretch myself and has inspired me to put in the work for personal and professional development of the last (almost!) three years,” wrote Ford, in her post on LinkedIn. “My growth from Techstars has taken place in parallel with the growth of our Techstars community across the Southeast.”
Ford, who co-launched the auto diagnostics app Fixed while a student at Georgia Institute of Technology, says she plans to continue to help nurture entrepreneurs and creators in the growing Atlanta tech startup ecosystem while working at Bakkit.
