A Stockholm, Sweden based startup just made more money to help podcasters worldwide make more money.
That company, Acast, has announced it has raised $35 million in Series C funding. It has already raised more than $67 million since its inception. Investors in this latest funding round include Microcap, AP1 and Ny Tekink.
According to Acast, the company “is a curated platform for podcasts. We connect listeners, podcast creators, and advertisers in a fully integrated, one-stop shop.” Also, Acast modernizes podcasting so that podcasts sound current regardless of when they were recorded. For example, their technology helps automatically replace old ads on podcast with newer, updated ones, or place location specific ads in certain markets.
With its latest funding, Acast wants to further grow this technology and expand it beyond its current Sweden, Denmark, Ireland and New Zealand markets. It has a small presence in the U.S. podcast market, which this latest funding round will also improve.
