Peak Ventures shook things up in the VC world by changing its name and announcing a new fund.

Its new name is Album VC, which the owners say better represents the company’s investment approach.

“In venture capital, it’s important to have a point of view, to find a code to live by,” said Album’s blog. “As we’ve reviewed what we’ve learned together, two important lessons stand out from the rest: a little luck can go a long way, and that a smaller number of deep, meaningful connections is more powerful than a broad but shallow network.”

The fund is set at $75 million, and will focus on a small, select number of small and early-staged startups. This will be Album’s third fund.

Album’s previous portfolios have produced several successful startups including ClearVoice, Consensus, Homie, Divvy, SalesRabbit.
