Mobile Game Startup Scopely Raises $200 Million

Up and coming mobile game development firm Scopely announced it has raised new financing.

According to the Reuters news agency, the San Francisco based developer and publisher of mobile games such as Star Trek: Fleet Command, The Walking Dead and WWE, raised $200 million in its latest Series D funding round.

NewView Capital led this new funding, along with Greycroft Ventures, Revolution Growth, Sands Capital Ventures, and Canada Pension Investment Board, and other investors.

Reuters quotes a source close to the matter saying that the valuation of Scopely is now at $1.7 billion with this current round.

Scopely plans to use the new funding to expand its operations through acquisitions and investments of other similar businesses, and to increase its slate of new digital gaming content.
