Mobile Doorman announced it has closed on $6.5 million in expansion funding to continue growing its customizeable multifamily housing mobile app business.

The round is led by Reimagined Ventures, which previously led its Series A funding round last year.

Mobile Doorman plans to use the funding as a launching pad for new product developments that it hopes will lead to new revenue streams for property owners and managers. It also plans to further its expansion in the apartment and condominium industries.

“Since its inception, Mobile Doorman has aimed to fill a significant connectivity gap in the resident experience,” said Ankeet Kansupada, head of  private equity investments at Reimagined Ventures’ parent company, Litowitz Family Office. “We’re targeted on ways we can continue improving upon that connection and, through that, unlocking new revenue streams for our partners using their custom apartment apps.”

“At Mobile Doorman, our mission is to improve the ways people interact with their homes and communities through technology,” added Mobile Doorman’s  VP of Product, Kara Bubb, in a statement.

The Chicago based startup creates custom mobile app software for multifamily communities that allows residents and property owners to manage their communities more efficiently. It was founded in 2014.
