CleverTap Lands New Funding For Mobile Marketing Platform

A startup that helps companies retain users on their mobile apps confirmed it received new funding.

CleverTap, based out of Mountain View, California, closed on a $35 million Series C funding round. This brings its total funding to over $77 million. Tiger Global Management and Sequoia India provided the funding.

“It’s been an incredible journey. Six years ago I started the company alongside my co-founders, Anand Jain and Suresh Kondamudi, with a goal that has never changed. We want to help our customers engage and retain their users,” said co-founder Sunil Thomas in a blog post. “Since then, we’ve helped over 8,000 apps around the world drive over $2 billion in incremental revenue by allowing them to understand and engage their users in a more meaningful way.”

“This Series C funding round is a fantastic milestone for us,” he continues. “And will fuel some very exciting plans to ensure our customers’ success.”

CleverTap plans to invest in building out their US based engineering hub. The will be adding enhanced predictive capabilities to their platform. The company plans to execute an aggressive global go-to-market expansion strategy to help even more companies build strong relationships with their users.
