CarePredict Nabs $9.5 Million in Funding

A Florida based medical startup is betting that AI can help elderly patients prevent health problems that send many to the emergency room.

CarePredict announced today that it raised $9.5 million in Series A funding, the most of the two funding ventures it had since December 2017 when it raised $4 million. This current round was provided by Secocha Ventures, Startup Health Ventures, and Las Olas Ventures. This story was originally reported by VentureBeat.

CarePredict was founded by former IBM consultant and veteran tech expert Satish Movva. His company states that their AI-based platform can predict urinary tract infections and other health issues before they can be clinically detected. CarePredict also claims it reduced falls by seniors by 25 percent in communities where its used.

CarePredict earlier acquired WiseWare, a health wearable company that retailed its devices at Macy’s, Nordstrom and Sacks Fifth Avenue.
