Bioscience Startup Raises $27 Million

Cambridge, Mass. based Vedanta Biosciences announced Wednesday that it raised $27 million in Series C financing.

The startup plans to use the new funds to further its pipeline of microbiome-derived product possibilities, including ongoing studies in food allergies, advanced or metastatic cancers and recurring Clostridum difficille infections.

Funding was provided by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Bristol Myers Squibb, Invesco Asset Management, Seventure Partners, Rock Springs Capital and PureTech Health.
