Backbone’s Cloud Based Workflow Suite Wins $18 Million

Backbone, the Boulder, Colorado based startup announced it raised new funding for its cloud based workflow suite for direct to consumer companies.

The startup announced it has raised $18 million in Series A funding from lead investors Foundry Group and Signal Peak Ventures. Other investors in this round include Beanstalk Ventures, Spider Capital, Peterson Ventures, Novel TNT Ventures, Grotech Ventures and Brainchild Holdings.

Backbone is currently working with more than 150 companies, including Warby Parker, Outdoor Voices, Serena & Lily and Allbirds, to help them streamline the manufacturing process and get their products to the public more efficiently.

The company plans to use its new funding to increase staff (including bringing in a new chief operating officer), provide updated features and functionality to its platform and solidifying its market presence.
