Palo Alto based startup Ascend announced it raised new funding, enabling its business debut.
The startup announced it has raised $19 million in Series A funding from Accel Partners which led the funding in this round. Supporting investors in this round includes 8VC, Lightspeed Partners, and Sequoia Capital.
This is the startup’s first funding round.
Ascend says it has created the first Autonomous Dataflow Service, which enables data engineers to build, scale, and operate continuously optimized, Apache Spark-based pipelines with 85% less code. The service manages underlying cloud infrastructures in popular platforms including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud.
